Developing a Green Business Support Strategy for UBCCE

Three national strategies directly addressed to the pilot countries of the project, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine, as well as a general strategy entitled “A Green Roadmap” were elaborated within this framework. The Green Business Strategies aim at providing orientation to business organizations in promoting green business issues among their members and thus providing appropriate support, bringing to their attention the green business opportunities and the need to respond to the related current global challenges.

The Black Sea and Caspian Region is offering a great and unexploited investment potential, where the private sector can play a pivotal role. The region has recorded a significant economic growth over the last decade, notable mainly in the energy field.

Local economies are striving for restructuring, steadily proceeding reforms for large-scale privatizations and institution building. They offer substantial advantages, which foster an ample business environment:  significant raw materials, a young, educated and skillful manpower, new consumer trends, which approach western standards and a desire to improve quality of life.
