New Presidency with a New Name following the 6th General Assembly

We are pleased to announce you that our Union will continue to raise the voice of private business in the Black Sea and Caspian Region under a new recognizable, brief and descriptive name: Union of Black Sea and Caspian Business - BLACKSEACASPIANBUSINESS, following the decisions taken during the Sixth General Assembly meeting, held on 5 April 2013, in Istanbul, Turkey.

As per the decisions taken during the Sixth General Assembly, BLACKSEACASPIANBUSINESS Presidency passed from Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) to Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) whereas Azerbaijan Turkey Business Association (ATIB) and Georgian Entrepreneurs Confederation (GEC) were elected as the Vice Presidents for the term 2013 – 2015, and Mr. Osman F. BOYNER has been designated as the new President of BLACKSEACASPIANBUSINESS.

We believe that our new identity, BLACKSEACASPIANBUSINESS, and our new presidency will help us in our mission to reinvigorate Black Sea and Caspian Region.

From the President

As you all know, the world economy is obviously going through a though time. The last couple of years will be remembered as really challenging years for the global economy where the impact of international financial crisis didn’t miss to affect our region as a whole.

Undoubtedly the crisis in many countries has brought forward long-standing problems and unaddressed shortcomings. The pace of the recovery has not been faster because of the severity of the crisis and the unique nature of the problems that led to the crisis in first place.

BSEC 20th Anniversary has been marked by the release of Istanbul Summit Declaration and adoption of an updated BSEC Economic Agenda towards Enhanced Partnership, providing a roadmap outlining the framework for joint action that is needed to give new impetus to economic regeneration in the region in the coming years to further reinforce the economic dimension of the Organization with more project oriented initiatives and actions.
